Hope you all had a great day! Looking forward to some sunny weather hopefully this coming weekend! Take a look at this amazing applique quilt that Helen made. I just love the zoo animals. With the exception of the outer border, I disconnected from Thelma and quilted this entire quilt free hand. I wanted the sky to look like the wind was just swirling around and I didn't quilt on the faces of the animals so they would pop off the quilt. I used 2 layers of batting: cotton and wool to help give the quilt a firmer feel since it is going to be a wall hanging and also to help the animals pop. Nice work Helen! I hope you like the way it turned out!
