The beauty of Dream Wool

Good Afternoon!  Hope you are enjoying this crazy Spring weather!  It is a blizzard here at my home right now.  Loving it!  I had the joy of working on another beautiful quilt that Patty made today.  The fabrics are old tweeds, wools and some cotton.  Really neat texture.  Patty brought this quilt to me with the covered buttons already sewed into the middle of each of the dresden's.  We chose a design in the triangles and squares called Feather Pearls and then I free motioned swirls in the outer borders and I dropped acorns in the little squares.  With the dresden's, I couldn't get too close without those buttons turning into big belly buttons popping up off the quilt.  I decided to do a p2p arch around each of the dresden blades so they looked like flowers and then I tightly stippled around the "flowers" to help the wool puff up under the dresdens.  A little unconventional perhaps.  I wanted to stitch on the dresden blades but in order to stay away from the buttons, it just didn't look right.  What do you think?

As always, nice work Patty!  Hope you like the way it turned out!
