Hi Everyone! Hope you had a great day. Every day, my oldest daughter Sonia comes into the studio to inspect the quilts on the frame and the designs that were chosen. Today was no different except for the response: "What are the Steelers doing in your studio? I don't like the Steelers!".
We are a football family. I grew up in a small town in South TX. Friday night lights, game day Saturday and Sunday football. All traditions deeply rooted in my system. In my day, it was all about the Houston Oilers. The days of Earl Campbell, Bum Phillips, and Warren Moon. My favorite coach of all time was Jon Gruden (the author of the book: Do you love football?). Life was good when he was coaching the Raiders.
We love football, we love the game, the players and respect the fans. I'm a die hard "12" since moving up here almost 12 years ago. I'm ok that the Steelers were in my studio today. It made me think fondly of a game I love and family. Although, it would be a tough sell right now to get me to quilt for a Panthers fan or a Cowboys fan(Terry, if you are reading this, I thought of you) HeeHee.....
I quilted two quilts today made by Kathy. Steelers quilts - the ones that inspired my musings today. Of course, I quilted footballs allover with black thread and a layer of wool batting. Love how they turned out.
Have a great week!
Go Hawks!
