Jamaica

Good Afternoon everyone!  I just finished "kwilting" Mary Lee's quilt and I wish I had taken the before picture to see how the quilt changed.  As I stated in my previous post, I tried to trick the eye into thinking the quilt was pieced on point.  The fabrics reminded me of old British Jamaica so I decided to use a design set called Jamaica on the quilt.  There are waves in the outer borders, a design called Delightful flower in the inner border and Hibiscus flowers and feathers in the middle.  I did a lot of ruler work to put the quilt on point and as a result the center of the stars now mimic the piano keys on the borders.  I did stitch in the ditch on all of those to make sure they were nice and flat.  I used 2 layers of cotton batting and two different shades of khaki thread.  Mary Lee, as always, outstanding piecing.  It made my job alot easier.  Hope you like the way it turned out.

Dorena, yours is next!  Take care, Richla
