The Vintage Spool

Good evening everyone!  Hope you had a great weekend!  As you know, I loaded my Halloween quilt and was going to try and get it "kwilted" this weekend.  Unfortunately, after waking up to a flooded kitchen Saturday morning and Super Bowl Sunday, I ended up not getting much done.  I had a hard time quilting on Friday because I could hardly see what I was doing.  Bright lights on, bright lights off, black thread on black fabric, neutral thread on patterned fabric, etc.  But today when I got home the sun was coming in at just the right angle putting a spotlight on my quilt.  I gasped and quickly grabbed my camera to get these shots.  Isn't it looking cool?  I'm almost done - about an hour or so left and I'll have it off the frame.  WooHoo.  This pattern is by The Vintage Spool (www.thevintagespool.com).  Verna makes labor intensive applique quilts.  This one really burned me out, but I am going to love looking at it in October.  It was all worth it.  This entire quilt is free motion which is hard for me -but I'm getting there.  I love the spider web on the tombstone.  What do you think?

On another note, I did manage to sew up a cute Fig Tree pattern this weekend.  I still have to do the embroidery but so far it is turning out really sweet.  I love applique!  Take care and have a great evening!
