And finally, I quilted up a quilt that was made back in the late 1800's. The top was given to me by Rachel from TX. We don't know much about it except that an appraiser said the dark fabrics were from the late 1800's and the coral fabric possibly from the 1930's. I used a layer of wool batting and did a meandering flower allover on the top. See what happens when we pile up our quilt tops in the closet and never finish them? A hundred plus years later someone decides to finish it but they know nothing about the maker, the place, the time, etc. So lesson to be learned - finish up your quilt tops and always remember to put a label on the back. What a treat that I got to finish this one up!!! Have a great day! Richla

A productive weekend...
Good Morning everyone! Hope you are enjoying our glorious rainy Sunday. A good day to get a lot of things done around the house. Here are a few more quilts I finished up. The first one here is by Margaret. We chose a design allover called Celtic Vines with a lavendar thread and Margaret brought her own warm and white batting. I quilted it a little looser so the lavendar thread would not over power the white fabric. The second one is a cute little table topper by Traci. We used a design in the outer border called Damask with Holly Berries in the middle and a double layer of Warm and Natural batting. The prairie points are challenging since they don't want to stay down but I still think they are charming sticking up off the quilt. I also quilted up one of my projects this weekend. I decided to use 2 layers of Dream Puff and not quilt on the pears and the fussy cut squares so they would become dimensional. What do you think?
